As college tuition rates continue to rise, more students are in need of financial assistance. Scholarships are one way of receiving financial help. Sibley East students can qualify for scholarships based on their academic performance, extracurricular activities/sports, work/volunteer experience, family history, etc. Scholarships are available locally, nationally, and through the specific college.
When applying for scholarships, remember to read directions carefully. In addition to the application process, certain organizations may request follow up communication from the student. If you are awarded a scholarship, pay attention to how the money will be distributed and the conditions of keeping your scholarship. Also, writing a "Thank You" note always leaves a positive impression with the scholarship institution.
Students: Please view scholarship information by logging into your MCIS accounts. Choose the "Education" option, then "Where can I get help paying for school?", then "Scholarhsips." In addition to these scholarships, I will add links to local scholarships and then come in along with recommending checking with your future college and with parents' employers for possible scholarships.
Good luck on your scholarship search!
