Sibley East Biology Club

Started April 2021

The Biology Club is comprised mainly of students at the high school of varying grade levels. Membership in the club is open to any Sibley East student in grades 7-12. We are a chapter of the National Biology Teachers Association Biology Club.

The mission of the NABT BioClub is to recruit, support, nurture, and promote students with an interest in biological sciences for personal reasons, academic preparation, the betterment of society, and career opportunities by providing guidance, resources, and activities to meet these goals.

Benefits to belonging to the Sibley East Biology Club:

  • Foster a sense of community and allow for new members to get involved through regular meetings.
  • Learn field biology techniques and gather data from different ecosystems.
  • Visit hospitals, Universities, and research labs to promote various disciplines within biology and talk with professionals about career opportunities.
  • Learn outdoor skills and recreate in the outdoors.
  • Hear guest speakers from a wide array of disciplines providing unique leaning opportunities.
  • Plan, engage in, and have fun at social events for members.
  • Help other students with their studies.
  • Interact with local communities through volunteering, attending events and programs, camping/hiking at state parks and visiting museums.

If the Biology Club sounds like something you would like to be a part of, simply come to one of our meetings. New members are welcome. If you'd like more information, feel free to contact Greg Elseth or Rene Moriarty , or talk with any of the officers of the club.
