Honors English 7

  • This course is limited to students recommended for the program by their previous year's or present instructor. Applicants will be evaluated on classroom performance in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. In addition, portfolio samples will be evaluated and references may be sought. Course content will be similar to that of English 7, but the class will explore the content in greater depth. All activities will be designed to keep the gifted student challenged.

Basic English Course

  • Students identified as needing significant teacher attention and intervention due to difficulty with language arts skills are recommended for this course. Parents are advised of this need and consent to placement in the class.
  • Enrollment is limited to afford as much teacher/student interaction as possible.
  • Curriculum is similar to other English 7 classes, but the class may move at a different pace to allow for as much mastery of material as possible. Students will do a considerable amount of oral reading and redrafting in this course.
