Elections

Elections take place in May for the following school year. All students grades 5-8 are eligible to apply.  Each grade then votes on the applicants and four from each grade are elected as representatives.

Dance Rules

All school rules apply.

The dance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end at 10:30 p.m.

No one will be admitted after 9:00 p.m. unless special arrangements have been made with Mr. Harter or Ms. Husfeldt.

No one will be allowed to leave before 10:30 p.m. unless picked up by a parent.

Anyone who does leave early without being picked up by a parent is in violation of school rules. Their parents will be immediately contacted. No one who leaves will be readmitted to the dance.

School dress code rules are in effect at the dance. This means no revealing clothing. Violators will have their parents called and will have to leave the facility.

Guests of Sibley East students are not permitted. Students must be enrolled at Sibley East Junior High School.

There will be no kissing or other public displays of affection at the dance. Violators will be sent home and the parents contacted.

What will students be able to buy at the dance?

Soft drinks, water, candy, and souvenir items will be on sale at the dance.

Will bus service be available?

We have tried to schedule buses many times without success, so there will be no bus service to the dance.

Weather Cancelations

When school is closed for a weather emergency on the day of the dance, the dance is postponed.

If weather conditions deteriorate and become dangerous after school is dismissed and before the dance is to begin, the dance is postponed.

When this happens, cancelation information will be available on KNUJ AM 860, KRBI 1310 AM, and KARP FM 106.9 and on the school website.
